About the AHHA

The Australian Hunter Horse Association Incorporated (“AHHA”) was developed with the aim of increasing the profile of show and working hunter horses in Australia.

The AHHA is a national organisation with Sub-Committees covering each state/ territory of Australia.

AHHA QLD represents the Queensland Committee of the AHHA and is headed by our President Shirley Callaghan.

Below are just a few of the initiatives that the AHHA is currently working on in Queensland:

• working with show societies (from small agricultural societies to Royal shows such as Brisbane and Toowoomba Royals) to help introduce a more comprehensive range of both show and working hunter classes in their schedules;

• setting a standard for the judging and presentation of hunter competitions;

• the education of judges and competitors through information seminars;

• the compilation of a list of specialist and experienced hunter judges not only from Victoria, but from all states of Australia, New Zealand and the UK;

• the registration and classification of hunter horses;

• providing a cohesive, transparent and supportive network for hunter horse competitors, event organisers and breeders;
